Wanderers up to second

WORTHING WANDERERS got a step closer to Worthing League leaders Warren Sports despite giving one of their poorest performances this season.

Super sub Jamie Sneddon scored with his second touch, and add another still, to complete a 4-1 success over AFC Court & Smith.

Wands' final ball was the source of their problems and a scrappy game but Paul Mayhew, in from the Reserves, was a calming midfield influence.

And they were 2-0 up by the 29th minute. Neil Williams struck in the sixth minute when Nick Brett flicked on Marc Dumbleton's long throw. Then Lucky Gohler once again drew a foul in the penalty area and Nick Dumbleton smashed home from the spot his eighth goal in three matches.

Now Wanderers are again this Saturday at pleasant Fernhurst Drive but facing defending champions L&S Athletic from Lancing.
