Whilst Andy Murray suffered a ‘fatal distraction’ on Sunday Morning, Team Fosters, Team Wallaby, Team Sydney and Team Boomerang surrendered themselves to the cold to compete in the Weald Annual Australian American Tournament to enjoy 4 hours of hard fought, competitive and fun doubles play.

With a start time of 11 am the competitors congregated in the clubhouse to receive their instructions from Head Coach Adrian Drãghici, get acquainted with their doubles partner and fellow Team members, whilst nervously watching Andy Murray clinch the 2nd Set in Melbourne to a raucous cheer!

Spurred on, off they set to brave the bitter cold against and their opponents! It was great to welcome members competing in the tournament for the first time and to witness tennis at all levels being played in the spirit meant for such a tournament with good humour.

The teams were well matched with Team Boomerang captained by Clare Davenport coming out as winners by just one point over Team Wallaby. After prizes had been handed out and the compulsory team photo being taken the competitors and spectators sat down to enjoy the ‘tucker’.
