Wickers battle but get no reward

A HARRY CONSTABLE own goal was all that separated second division Southwick and Division 1 Ringmer on Saturday.

The result was never in doubt, though, with Ringmer dominating for long periods although Wickers' commitment and work rate could not be faulted.

After a scrappy opening, the first shot of the game came on 17 minutes but Southwick captain Ricky Timms' effort flew high and wide from 25 yards.

The main talking point came five minutes later. Ringmer's Dan McLaughlin fouled Grant Bean and when Bean got to his feet, he was pushed in the face by Ringmer's Herve King. All three players were booked for the incident, although King was lucky to keep his place on the pitch.
