WORTHING REGAIN TOP SPOT
WORTHING skimmed back to the top of the table on Saturday and sat back for their coming week's fixture break to await the outcome of the 2nd v 3rd clash between Cuckfield and Bexhill this Saturday.
Their fortunes varied from amazement at the decision of toss-winning Sidley skipper Eddy Daniels' decision to bat first on a seaming wicket damp from overnight rain, to some frustrations in the field that delayed the dismissal until the 44th over.
They might well have needed somewhat fewer than 140 to win had Pakistani import Riswan Afmed chipped an inch or two closer to Tom Hudson's outstretched fingers at mid-on when halway to his 68, for which he occupied the crease for three hours.
