Young Cooden stars win Sussex foursomes
FINE young talent at Cooden Beach Golf Club is celebrating winning the East Sussex Junior Foursomes League after a thrilling second leg to the final at Piltdown Golf Club.
The host club went into the clash holding a slender 2-1 advantage from the leg at Cooden (two 2&1 wins plus a 3&2 defeat) but the local club reversed the trend, claiming their matches by one and two holes and losing the other by just a single hole.
Cooden won it the most dramatic fashion possible when Daniel Cruikshank and Paul Dix held their nerve to clinch the final hole of their match which, had they lost, would have led to the team losing the overall match to their opponents.
