Made in Brighton: Bea Bastida releases debut EP Solace
Brighton-based singer-songwriter Bea Bastida has released her debut E.P., Solace, now available on all major streaming platforms. At just 20, Bea is emerging as a distinctive voice in the city’s music scene, known for intimate storytelling and songs that balance vulnerability with striking, contemporary production.
The three-track EP — “Wreckage,” “Cracks in a Wall” and “Secret” — was recorded at Homeward Recording Studios in Hove and co-produced by Grammy-winner Pete Smith (Sting, The Police) and Brighton producer Simon Janes. Funded through a Kickstarter campaign supported by over 60 backers across six countries, Solace captures deeply personal stories of heartbreak, resilience, and the search for comfort in moments of struggle.
Bea first found her footing in Brighton’s grassroots community — performing at open mics and independent venues, and forming part of AudioActive, the local music charity known for supporting emerging talent. She also held a pre-release Secret Show at The Yellow Book Bar, where she performed the EP in full for a small audience and shared the stories behind each track.
Alongside her Brighton beginnings, Bea’s music has reached listeners internationally through performances in Madrid, Montpellier, and New York, including her social media video series “Solace in New York” and “Wreckage in Wales”. Her work has been featured on Radio Reverb, The Argus, Sussex World y Brighton Journal, steadily building recognition for her emotive songwriting and distinctive vocal style.

Reflecting on the release, Bea says: “These songs are very personal to me and I have my own set of stories to go with each one, but I hope people listening can connect with them in their own way. Brighton gave me the confidence to share my music and find my voice. ”
Solace is available to stream now.
