UK’s Town of Culture: Why should Crawley be nominated? Show your support here

The Government has just launched a bid to find the UK’s Town of Culture - with a £3million prize up for grabs for the winner.

The aim of the campaign is to bring in local investment and create a lasting sense of pride in towns - as well as opening doors to the arts for everyone.

We have so much to shout about on our doorstep, and this is a great opportunity to champion what makes our local community special and celebrate local people.

Winning the £3million would be brilliant - but just taking part in the contest, putting our town in the spotlight and showing the rest of the country what we have to offer is a prize in itself.

Here at the Crawley Observer/SussexWorld we believe this is a great opportunity to put our town on the national stage.

We think we fully deserve to be in the running and want the whole community to get involved and do all we can to help us win.

Here’s how you can get involved.

Firstly, you can write to the council and show your support for entering the competition by emailing [email protected]

Next, let us know why you love our town so much, what makes it special - we want to hear your suggestions for what we should be shouting about in our bid.

You can send us your thoughts and ideas [email protected]

Let’s let the whole country know why we really are the UK’s Town of Culture.
