CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON: Dr Fox will do the honours in East Preston

The DJ and former Pop Idol judge, pictured right, will switch on the village's illuminations, in Northern Parade, at 5pm '“ but the fun will start at 4pm.

The Royal British Legion will be offering a barbecue and mulled wine, while hot dogs and non-alcoholic spiced punch will be available from Prestons, where there will also be an RNLI gift stall.

There will also be a hog roast, roast chestnuts, mince pies, festive music and much more.

Final Touch will be the venue for balloon modelling and pop corn, and there will also be fairground rides in the village.

Santa will help Dr Fox flick the switch, before retiring to his grotto, at Shortcuts Barbers, to meet and greet the children

The entertainment will continue well into the evening, with a Christmas quiz and the Tudor Tavern and cheese and wine at the British Legion, both from 7pm.
