Concert recalls former Bognor Regis Music Club chairman

MEMBERS and friends of Bognor Regis Music Club will be staging a tribute to their former chairman tonight (Saturday, April 14).

They will be dedicating their concert to the late Derek Debuse.

Mr Debuse was the chairman of the club for more than 30 years before he died last December, aged 67, after a long battle with cancer.

Current chairman Chris Coote said: “It is appropriate that our next concert is dedicated to the memory of Derek Debuse who was responsible for making the club what it is today.

“That is a thriving community of music-lovers who come together regularly to enjoy professional and in-house concerts in the intimate and beautiful surroundings of our concert room.

“I am delighted that Gillian Wintle and Maurice Thomas have agreed to organise the evening, which will include some of the composers Derek loved, performed by many of the people associated with the club over the years.”

The concert starts at 7.30pm in the club’s concert room at 2 Sudley Road.

Entry at the door is £6 for members (£8 visitors).

New members and guests are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
