Jazz at the library

NEW Orleans traditional jazz and popular music from the 1930s will be played in a two hour programme at Lewes Library on Wednesday (April 18) evening.

The event forms part of a campaign to highlight the music material and information in East Sussex libraries.

Roy Martin, a well-known jazz figure in the county and a member of East Sussex County Council, will give a talk on jazz history and jazz in Lewes since the 1950s. The Jazz Caverners' quartet then will play guitar, banjo, trumpet, trombone and drums.
