SPORT: Charity golf

GOLFERS are being invited to tee off to help mark a historic anniversary.

The RAF Benevolent Fund's Princess Marina House is holding its annual fund-raising golf day at Littlehampton Golf Club on Friday, July 9, and this year's proceeds will go towards a 7,000 appeal for a special decorative window at the home, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

More than 10 teams have already registered for the golf day, and there is space for a total of 30 teams of four.

The top four teams will receive prizes, and there will be an opportunity to win a car in a hole-in-one competition.

Teams wishing to register should contact Princess Marina House general manager Shirley Steeples, telephone 01903 788971, or e-mail:

Princess Marina House is the RAF Benevolent Fund's flagship resort.

Set in spacious grounds on the foreshore at Rustington in West Sussex, the home offers short-term breaks for former members of the RAF, and their dependants.
