An East Sussex Highways spokesperson said the repairs are being carried out in Station Approach.
They added: "We'll be returning to the junction of Devonshire Road, Havelock Road, Cornwallis Terrace and Station Approach for road surfacing works.
"The road will be closed from 8pm tonight, Monday (September 14), for two nights. Please use alternative routes."
They added: "Later this week, we're also planning to remove the temporary traffic signals and open pedestrian crossings."
