From 7am-7pm, the road will remain open with temporary traffic lights in place.

However, East Sussex Highways said that from 7pm- 7am, access will be restricted to residents while work is carried out, with traffic diverted via the A2036, the A2691, the A2690, the A21 and vice versa.

The spokesperson said: "Please note there will be deep excavations in the carriageway so there may be periods where vehicular access is not possible

"There will also be traffic lights on Harley Shute Road to maintain the volume of traffic on Bexhill Road."
