A draw away to Herstmonceux II would've been enough for AAC to secure top spot, whereas the hosts needed to win if they were to finish at the head of affairs.

And it was AAC who prevailed 2-0 at Lime Cross on Saturday, with Leo Oliver scoring both of the goals.

That meant AAC ended up five points ahead of Herstmonceux, who had to settle for third spot, behind runners-up Ninfield II on goal difference.

Elsewhere on Saturday, SC Pass+Move took a step closer to Division One glory courtesy of a 4-1 win at fifth-placed Herstmonceux.

That result put leaders Pass+Move five points clear of third-placed Wadhurst United - the only team who can now mathematically catch them - having played one more match.

Much will no doubt hinge on the clash between Pass+Move and Wadhurst at Netherfield Recreation Ground this Wednesday (May 20) evening.

Meanwhile, Northiam 75 II edged out Mountfield United 2-1 in a meeting between the two teams vying for third position in Division Two.

The goals of Sebastian Collingwood and Brandon Smith ensured hosts Northiam narrowly came out on top, despite Harry Compton netting for Mountfield.

It leaves Northiam three points ahead of Mountfield and with a slightly better goal difference, with both sides having one fixture remaining.

Northiam's last game is away to runners-up The JC Tackleway II, who received a home walkover against Parkfield at the weekend.

Icklesham Casuals defeated Hollington United II 2-1 in the final Division Three encounter of the season, finishing four points above their victims in seventh spot as a result.

Daniel Rumsey's late strike settled matters in favour of Icklesham, whose other goal came from Thomas Cumber.

Casuals were also in action the previous Wednesday evening, when they contested a 2-2 draw away to sixth-placed Sedlescombe Rangers.

Charlie Snary and Cumber were on the scoresheet in that one, while Adam Bond and Spencer Sharkey scored for Sedlescombe, who finished above Icklesham on goal difference.
