Finals Weekend at Horsham District Indoor Bowls Club
The Finals Weekend was successfully organised and hosted by Danny Craft - with 84 competitors involved in 20 finals, across both Long Mat and Short Mat bowls.
Competitions commenced on Friday evening, with a further three sessions on Saturday and two more on Sunday - meaning careful timing with some competitors involved in more than one final which had to be taken into account. It was great to see a new "Novice Triples Event' giving encouragement to our newer members, alongside Short Mat Finals being incorporated over the weekend.
Some events went down to the very last end - competitive but with all events played with great spirit and acknowledgement of some great bowling.
Congratulations to all those who took part - not just for Finals Weekend but for all the earlier rounds which had commenced in the autumn of 2025.
The final session of the weekend, on Sunday afternoon, was to decide who were our Singles Champions, Men, Ladies and the Open Singles, plus the Short Mat Champion - won by Phil Lawrence. Jenny Richardson was the winner of the Victor Laudorum Trophy, having scored the most points over the weekend.
So, congratulations to all those who took part and especially Danny Craft for such a well organised weekend. HDIBC is open every day, all year round, from 09:30 am to 09:30 pm (with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year's Day), so we now move to our Summer Season with internal leagues and competitions taking place. We wish all those bowlers, playing indoors or outdoors, a successful and enjoyable Summer Season - and hopefully, some good weather too!!
