Lindridge care home, on Laburnum Avenue, has been awarded a certificate of compliance following an inspection by Care Inspections UK (CIUK), the UK's only accredited care home inspection body.

The home was assessed against British Standard BS8606:2019, which sets out requirements for residential care services, including care, safety and employment practices.

Lindridge, which is part of Anavo Care, provides residential, nursing, specialist dementia and respite care for people with a range of healthcare needs.

The certification provides independent recognition of the standards maintained at the home and reassurance for residents and their families.

Alex Mendonca, registered manager at Lindridge, said: “Families placing a loved one into a care home need to have confidence that the service is committed to maintaining high standards, so having an independent organisation come into Lindridge and assess what we do is extremely valuable.

“This certification belongs to the entire team. Our colleagues work incredibly hard to make Lindridge somewhere residents can feel comfortable, supported and very much at home, while ensuring that the care and systems behind that are of a consistently high standard.

“We are delighted to have achieved the certificate of compliance and it gives us another independent measure against which we can continue to develop the service.”

Kevin Groombridge, chief executive of Care Inspections UK, said: “The purpose of independent inspection is to give residents, relatives and care providers clear and objective assurance about the standards being delivered within a home.

“Achieving certification requires a home to demonstrate its compliance against an established British Standard, and I am pleased to congratulate Alex and the team at Lindridge on successfully completing that process.

“Certification is not simply about recognition. It is also about encouraging a culture in which standards are continually reviewed and maintained, which ultimately benefits the people who rely on these services.”
