Planning application submitted for proposed indoor padel facility in Burgess Hill

A planning application has been submitted for a proposed indoor padel facility in Burgess Hill, developed by a Sussex-based family with a long-standing connection to sport. The proposal involves fitting out a recently completed building on Consort Way, Burgess Hill, to create a four-court indoor padel facility, along with a café and social space. The development aims to provide an accessible and informal environment that supports wider uptake in physical activity.

Although there is a covered outdoor padel court nearby, Burgess Hill currently lacks a fully enclosed indoor padel venue. The proposed development seeks to offer a warm, weatherproof venue for year-round play.

The scheme has been designed with a focus on accessibility and community use, including pay-and-play options to help broaden the player base. The aim is to create a space suitable for a wide range of users, including newcomers to the sport and those returning to physical activity.

A decision on the planning application is expected by the end of May 2026.
