Drink-driver jailed for 12 weeks after Barcombe School crash

A 55-year-old man from Barcombe has been jailed for 12 weeks after pleading guilty to drink-driving.

He was also disqualified from driving for 60 months after appearing before Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (April 22).

Graham Stewart Thompson, of Deans Meadow, Barcombe, had been charged with driving with 121mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system. The legal limit is 35mg.

This follows an incident when a white van collided with a wall at Barcombe Primary School, in School Field, at about 10am on Thursday, April 21.
