HISTORY STUDY GROUP: This month's meeting will start at 8pm today, Friday, and will be held in St Mary's Church. Please note the change of time and venue. Six history group members will talk about the lives and careers of the six very different men who served as Vicars of St Mary's Church between 1900 and the outbreak of World War II. The venue would still be immediately recognisable to them, were they able to join us. There will be a retiring collection for the Friends of St Mary's.

SPRING FAIR: Tomorrow, Saturday, in Ringmer Village Hall from 10am to 12.30pm. Ringmer WI members have been busy making, baking and collecting for a great range of stalls: cakes, art and craft, plants books, bric-a-brac, raffle, tombola and good as new, come for a cup of coffee and a bargain.

ST MARY’S: In addition to the usual services, this weekend promises to be a busy one at St Mary’s. Tonight, Friday, at 8pm we look to the past in a series of short talks about the Vicars of Ringmer 1900-1945; tomorrow, Saturday, we look to the future with two exciting workshops focusing on our work with children, young people and their families. On Sunday, the Annual Meeting is a chance to review the last year (and what a year it has been) and look to the future as we elect our churchwardens and PCC members. Services: Sunday, 8am Holy Communion, 10am Eucharist followed by APCM, 6.30pm Evensong and Wednesday 9am Holy Communion. Advance Notices: Rogation Sunday May 1, The Bless a Farm service takes place at noon at Plashett Park Farm. The annual plant sale takes place on Saturday May 7.

BAPTIST CHURCH: Regular Services in the village hall: Sundays at 10.30am and 6pm. Communion usually celebrated on second Sunday (morning) and fourth Sunday (evening) each month. Sunday and Youth Clubs available. All welcome to join our service in Holme Lodge Residential Home on April 27 at 2.15pm. Our next Messy Church event, for all the family, is on Sunday in the village hall at 2.30pm. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, games and crafts with free refreshments. The Ringmer Food Bank, run by Ringmer Baptist Church, is open every Monday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Located in the village hall (Rogers Room) it is available to individuals and families referred to us by local welfare organisations. COUNTRY MARKET: Please remember the Country Market in the village hall each Tuesday from 10am to 11am where you can buy a selection of sweet and savoury homemade goods including ready meals and gluten free cakes. There are also vegetables and plants in season, preserves, genuine free range eggs, handmade greetings cards and other craft items. Tea and coffee are always available.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday March 6, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Barrie Smith and Alan Grindley; 2, Deirdre Booth and Tony Wing; 3, Joan Evett and Sandra Dudley-Williams. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Please note that, due to building works in the main entrance, we may be in the small hall again. Entrance is directly from the car park only. Contact 814220.
