BOWLS CLUB: We are having an open morning tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am. If you haven't tried playing bowls now's the chance to come and have a taster. We are a very friendly mixed club. There will also be coffee served, so do come along. Bowls is for all ages. We are adjacent to the village pump. All you need is flat soled shoes. We play from April to September. We look forward to meeting you. The opening match of the season was last weekend ladies v gents and the gents won. This week the match results are Ringmer 75 v Saltdean 63; Ringmer 61 v Frant 77; Ringmer 67 v West Hoathly 70; Mayfield 54 v Ringmer 51.

NEARLY NEW SALE: We are organising a Children’s Nearly New sale at Ringmer Primary School for anything to do with children age 4 years plus. Items we hope to be selling include clothes, toys, books, bikes, scooters etc. It will be held tomorrow (Saturday) from 10.30am until noon. If anyone still wishes to sell then they should register in advance please at [email protected]. There will be tea and cakes too. If anyone has anything they could donate for school funds then please e mail the same address and we would be very pleased to collect.

ST MARY’S: Tomorrow (Saturday) the club for primary school aged children opens for the last time in its current format between 10am and noon. Do pop in as we shall be exploring the tale of Noah and the Ark though crafts, songs and games. After this time, St Mary’s is scoping out a new approach for our work with children and their families. If you have any ideas of events we might attend or help at, please let us know! Tomorrow afternoon from 2pm is the plant sale in the Vicarage Garden. Come and buy some plants (I hope it feels a bit more spring like) and stop for tea and a chat. On Sunday we celebrate Holy Communion at 8am, a Eucharist Service at 10am with rededication of the PCC, and Evensong at 6.30pm. On Tuesday, we are heading off to the Royal Oak at Barcombe for a fun skittles evening. All are welcome at a cost of £9 including ploughman’s supper or sausage and mash. BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday April 27, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Liz and Tim Owen; 2, Alan Disney and Roy Skan; 3, Jenny Lodge and Barrie Smith. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.
