LETTER: We must help

Many people will know that President Hollande has declared that the monster Calais refugee camp known as '˜the Jungle' will be demolished.

It currently houses over 10,000 people, at least 1,000 of them unaccompanied minors, unbelievably some as young as nine or even eight. Over 400 of these children have family connections in Britain and so are eligible to come here.

In May, parliament voted for a government commitment to accept 30,000 refugees but after nearly six months not one has arrived.

I am writing to our MP, Maria Caulfield, to ask her to support government action; does she see any excuse for delay for those refugees who have family here?

Perhaps other readers concerned would also write to her.
