Annual summer art exhibition

Southwater Area Community Centre will be holding its fifth Annual Summer Art Exhibition from August 30 to September 13.

It will be open to the general public on Saturdays, Mondays and Fridays from 10am to 5pm or by appointment.

The show consists of an eclectic display of works including ceramics, drawings, paintings, collage and print-making by local artists, most of whom have already displayed some of their work at the centre.

Among the artists exhibiting are: Susan Cleland, Anna Bochene, Sue Wells, Trisha Oakland, David Wright, Georgiana de Lussy, Nick Hill and Juliet.

Also on show will be a small exhibition of works by local children loosely based on the theme of Dreams.

The private view will take place on Friday, August 29 from 6pm to 9pm and the exhibition will be opened by Parliamentary Labour candidate Sarah Owen and Hastings Deputy Mayor Judy Rogers. Refreshments will be available.

Southwater Community Centre is at 1 Stainsby Street, St Leonards (just behind Warrior Square station).
