Brighton high up in list of busiest railway stations outside London

Brighton was the seventh busiest railway station outside London last year, according to new data from the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) released today (Tuesday December 6).

The figures are estimated as Britian does not have a fully gated network, but the ORR lists Brighton as having 17,333,326 entries and exits to the station.

This is more than Reading, Glasgow Queen Street and Liverpool Central.

Gatwick sits a place above Brighton with 18,028,846.

Top station outside London is Birmingham New Street (39,077,018), while Waterloo is the busiest station in the country (99,148,388).
