Hastings - average cost revealed for renting 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties from private landlords

It says private rents rose to an average of £979 in February 2025 (the latest figures), an annual increase of 6.2% from £922 in February 2024.

This was lower than the rise in the South East (7.1%) over the year.

It also broke down the cost to private renters based on number of bedrooms and type of property

Average rents as of February 2025 in Hastings were:

One bedroom: £673

Two bedrooms: £869

Three bedrooms: £1,069

Four or more bedrooms: £1,489

Flats and maisonettes: £770

Terraced properties: £1,004

Semi-detached properties: £1,107

Detached properties: £1,342

Its data stated: “Average rent for one bed properties rose by 6.9%, while the average for four-or-more bed properties increased by 4.8%.”
