Indian street food chain with Sussex restaurant unveils £40 Christmas feast
A street food chain has announced a £40 Christmas menu, available across its UK restaurants – including Brighton.
The ‘feasting menu’ at Mowgli Street Food will be available from November 16 to January 3.
Described in the launch announcement as a ‘festive spread with a Mowgli twist’, the menu includes a welcome drink, street plates, curry tiffin boxes and dessert. It is available for a minimum of two guests.
Diners will begin with a glass of prosecco or a soft drink, followed by the restaurant’s signature yoghurt chat bombs – crisp puff breads filled with chickpeas, spiced yoghurt and tamarind.

Guests can then choose a street plate, with options including gunpowder chicken poppers, Himalayan cheese toast with cheddar, red onion, chilli and Indian pickle, or Fenugreek kissed fries tossed in fenugreek and Mowgli masala.
The main course centres on two-tier curry tiffin boxes, which the announcement describes as bringing ‘Indian home cooking to the festive table’.
Each guest can choose the office worker’s tiffin, featuring a selection of meat, vegetables and carbohydrates, or opt for the meat-free Indian school tiffin or vegan school tiffin. All come with cumin rice.
Dessert options include a warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, an ice cream cone or sorbet.
The menu is aimed at festive gatherings with friends, family and colleagues, with semi-private and private dining options available at many restaurants.
Mowgli will also launch a new à la carte menu across its restaurants on October 26.
Mowgli Brighton is based at 2–14 Dukes Lane, in the heart of the city’s Lanes.
The restaurant celebrated its refurbishment with a relaunch party in August. Free food was also up for grabs, with golden monkeys hidden across Brighton.
On opening day, the first 100 guests through the doors from midday received a complimentary meal.
Guests visiting during the first week were able to take advantage of 50 per cent off food.
The restaurant describes itself as an Indian ‘home from home’, with its signature design featuring twinkling lights, trees and rope swings.
It serves Indian street food inspired by family recipes, with dishes designed around fresh herbs, spices and vibrant flavours.
The Brighton restaurant says it aims to offer a lighter alternative to traditional seaside fare, bringing its take on Indian food to the city’s Lanes.
As part of the revamped Mowgli experience, diners can expect the restaurant’s signature rope swings and vine-wrapped trees, creating what it describes as a relaxed and playful atmosphere.
