Employ Crawley celebrated five years of helping hundreds of local residents into employment on October 11.

Created by Crawley Borough Council, in partnership with West Sussex County Council, Employ Crawley was set up to support people moving into work or progressing into the next stages of their career or training.

The service started out as a one-year pilot at Crawley Library in October 2017 and now also has a hub in the Town Hall with outreach in the community. The service provides an over 25s adviser based at Crawley Library, and a youth employment support officer, working in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, who works with economically inactive 18-24 year olds based at the Town Hall.

It offers a uniquely holistic approach to employment support, helping people overcome barriers into employment and raising aspirations and self-esteem.
