A-level: Double Cambridge success for Chichester High School Sixth Form

The exceptional results saw the vast majority of pupils accepted into their first choice of university, with 44 per cent achieving A*-B pass rate – equalling the success from last year.

The sixth form’s overall pass rate is an above average 99 per cent – with 71 per cent of student succeeding with A*-C grades.

Stella Swain, 18, was over the moon with her results which have secured her a place at Cambridge.

She said: “I was quite surprised when I had found out I had got into uni, I checked this morning on UCAS.

“I text my parents straight away, they are so happy.”

Stella achieved an outstanding three A*’s and one A and will be studying English from September.

Equalling the incredible achievement, classmate Georgia Barber, 18, will also be off to Cambridge University after gaining a high standard of results.

“I got three A*’s and an A in English Literature, Latin, Classical Civilisation and History and will be studying Classics at uni,” she said.

“It is a massive relief to have got into uni,

“I have a look on UCAS this morning so I knew I had got in, I would have been too worried if I hadn’t – especially as the teachers knew yesterday!

“For the past few weeks it has been creeping up on me, I’m just glad I finally know.”

Charlie Selby, 18, achieved an excellent A and two B’s and is now set to begin a degree in Football Business Finance at Buckinghamshire University in September.

He said: “I am over the moon, I am so happy I did not expect it at all.

“I haven’t told my parents yet though, they said to call straight away but I still haven’t yet!”

Lizzie Finch, 18, found out her results through an unexpected wake up call this morning.

She said: “I got a text this morning at 6.30am but I didn’t read it, I just went back to sleep.

“When I woke up I read it and it was the university saying that I had got in!”

Lizzie achieved three A’s, securing her a place at Surrey University to study Psychology.

She added: “I definitely feel calmer now but I was so excited this morning, I didn’t even get a chance to get nervous really.”

Classmate, Lucy Coppard, 18, shared in her friends’ success with AAB in English Literature, Creative Writing and Geography

She will be studying English Literature at Sussex University.

She said: “I was just shocked this morning, I am so relieved now.

“I had so much adrenaline it was crazy.

“You can’t do anything to change the grades so it is stupid being nervous but you just can’t help it.

“My parents are very proud and happy.”

Carmen Shishaov, 18, will be going to Surrey after achieving A*BBC and will study aeronautical engineering.

Tom Smith 18, succeeded an outstanding AAB, ensuring his spot at top university Surrey to study Maths and Physics.

“We are pleased that so many of them now have the opportunity to pursue their dreams and wish them every success in the future.
