Horley hospital cares for over 21,000 NHS patients in a year

A year ago, Spire Gatwick Park Hospital committed to support the NHS in tackling the pandemic and put its colleagues, facilities, services and equipment at the disposal of Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Since then, it has provided cancer care and chemotherapy for the Chemo Suite from East Surrey Hospital and the Comet Ward from Crawley Hospital looking after over 6,000 patients.

It also provided care and support for step down patients recovering from Covid, elective work, diagnostic imaging, and their haematology department moved to our premises.

Many of the NHS patients who were seen at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital required urgent care and would otherwise have had their treatment or diagnosis delayed or cancelled. Spire Gatwick Park Hospital’s support has allowed the NHS to focus on treating COVID-positive patients.

Spire Gatwick Park Hospital is now fully open again to private patients, who are either self-paying or insured.

It will also continue to provide care for NHS patients and help reduce waiting times and the size of the overall waiting list.
