The Trust confirmed that following the unexpected power outages experienced at Eastbourne DGH on Tuesday, January 6, that it would undertake two planned power outages on Wednesday, January 7 to ‘ensure the stability of its power supply going forward’.
The first of the two planned outages took place at 2.30pm, with a second, site wide outage taking place an hour later.
The Trust also confirmed that contingency plans were in place so that services could ‘continue to be delivered safely during the outages’.
A spokesperson for the Trust added: “If you have a planned appointment at Eastbourne DGH, please attend as normal unless you have been contacted.
“Please help us to care for those who need us by only attending our emergency department for serious or life-threatening emergencies. Our services remain extremely busy and a pharmacy, your GP or NHS 111 may be able to help you faster. Please choose the right care for you.”
