Appeal to get creative for Christmas tree festival

Horley Methodist Church is appealing to families, community groups and businesses to decorate a tree for its first Christmas Tree Festival next month.

They already have 30 trees to display, but there is room for more.

Gary Davies from the church said: “The church is really going to be lit up and what a wonderful way to start the Christmas festival - to come and see the trees at the church. It’s for everybody.

“All the proceeds will go to Chase children’s hospice. We felt at this wonderful time of year we should remember the people in the hospital.

“As a church we are looking forward to it and I’m sure the people of Horley will have a lovely time visiting and seeing the decorations.”

The festival starts on Friday December 6 ending with a carol service in the church at 6pm on Sunday December 8 when people will be able to sing carols around the Christmas trees.
