It is now the largest open art competition in the country that is completely open to all.

This year there were more than 4,000 entries, from which 133 finalists were selected.

The £60,000 prize money was shared between more than 30 prize-winners.

In his recent work, Chris Gilbert has concentrated on woodcuts and etchings.

His prize woodcut is based on his travels in Mexico and depicts skeletons as musicians on a street bench. The print is in vibrant colours.
