MINDFULNESS: A new eight week course with a free introductory session at the village hall 2pm to 3pm on Tuesday September 20 for anyone interested to come along. Course runs 1pm to 3pm Tuesday September 27 to November 15. Helps people to manage stress and enhance general well-being. Booking Teresa 07957 858583 or [email protected]

BARCOMBE CINEMA: Presents Eye in the Sky on Friday September 16 at village hall, 7pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets £5 from Barcombe Stores. Bar and refreshments available. A thrilling movie starring Helen Mirren.

BARCOMBE YOUTH CHOIR: This is a new children’s choir for primary school aged children. Children will learn musicianship and the joy of music through natural movement, fun games and a wide range of musical styles. Starting from Tuesday 3.45pm to 4.30pm. DRAMA GROUP: Kaleidoscope children’s drama group will start the autumn term at the village hall on Tuesday September 27, 5.30pm to 6.30pm. A junior drama class for 7 to 11 year olds. This popular class helps to boost children’s creativity and confidence. Enquiries, Deidre Tel: 07963 478393.

BOWLING CLUB: Two games were played last week and two club competitions have also been played. Results: Home game Barcombe 74 Hellingly 61; away game Portslade 62 Barcombe 52. Governor’s Cup competition was won by John Blackmore who beat Karen Brown in the final. In the Wednesday Cup Competition Henry Bunny beat John Simpson in the final. In the Runners Up section John Blackmore beat Tony Smith. Seven more finals were played over the weekend September 3 and 4. Results will be in the next week’s edition.

CRICKET: ESCL Div 2 Barcombe v Chiddingly. Chiddingly 184 all out in 40 overs: Allan Trower 5-75, Joe Wheatley 3-65. Barcombe 184 all out in 53 overs: Joe Wheatley 47, Josh Wheatley 36, Allan Trower 20. Match tied 20 points each.

WI: Barcombe WI meet on Tuesday, 7.30pm in the village hall. Flotsam and Jetsam, finding the weird and wonderful on our beaches a talk by Andy Dinsdale followed by refreshments. Visitors and new members welcome.
