Hide AdAlan, of St Martha’s Church, founded the group in 2008 and has written all but one of its plays by dramatising stories from the Bible.
“When I write the plays, I try to bring out the human side of the biblical characters, as well as telling the story, because their strengths and weakness are the same as people have today,” he said.
Christian Voices’ first play, Lost and Found, based on the story of the prodigal son, was performed in All Saints Church.
“Eight people came to see us and half of those were members of my family,” Alan said.

Christian Voices has raised more than £4,000 for charity through donations at the three plays a year since 2012.
