Bodiam village voice

IT is good to hear the chimes of the School House clock. It is a superb John Moore/Son clock. The School House was part of the former Victorian Bodiam School and dates from 1886. It was the school that I went to. It had very cold outside loos and there is lots I could say about it. It is not like the village schools we have today, with a heated greenhouse, on the Main Street in the village.

I am sure Bodiam village cricket club would like to know what it is like to play the game as we have had such a lot of rain. But on May 13 the club is away to Newenden, start at 2pm.

The next service at St Giles is on May 20 at 11.15am. The vicar of Bodiam, Gordon, will take the service of Holy Communion, who at the end of the year will be off to be the new archbishop.

It was good to see our Bodiam Church of England Primary School play a part in the Road Safety Awareness Week with the help of our local PCSO Demi, who put in a lot of work into the week. And I must say what a very good photograph of myself and headteacher Margaret the police took - but not for their files.
