Friday 11 October Brede Farmers Market 10am – 12pm. Short Mat Bowls 7.30pm both in the Village Hall. Post Office Services in Broad Oak General store from 11am –1.00pm

Saturday 12 October The beginning of Hastings week and are many events to attend; here in the village hopefully you have organised your team for the WI Quiz Evening, in Brede Village Hall 7pm. There will be a hot supper £7.50 each. Do not forget to take your own cutlery drinks and nibbles. You may be lucky enough to have tickets for the performance for the Treorchy Male Choir in St Clements Church Old Town Hastings beginning at 7.30pm whichever event you attend have a wonderful time.

Sunday 13 October at St Georges Brede there will be a sung Eucharist at 9.30am followed by coffee. At the Trinity Methodist Church the Reverend Peter Timms OBE. MA. will be presiding. The Village is in for a special treat at the Rainbow Trout this evening as between 7pm – 9pm Sammi Lou from X Factor fame will be singing. She has a lovely voice and a good repertoire of songs.

Monday 14 October Age Uk Day Centre welcomes their clients at 10.30am and also any one else who would like to join them. They will be discussing the news and Future plans for each of their sessions, musical bingo and more, do contact Maureen 01424 883282 for any further information. The Whist Players are in the main Hall at 7.30pm. In the small Hall the Rainbows start at 4.00pm with Brownies following at 5.30pm. At 7.30pm The Friends of St George’s Church are organising the following event. Colin Page is presenting a slide show and talk “ The Sea Shore” in the Church, the buffet is included in the price, tickets cost £8.00 available from Marion Firman

Tuesday 15 October the artists will be ready at their easels at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall for Painting for Pleasure The Mobile Library visits Oakhill Drive 3pm – 3.40pm Reedswood Road 3.50pm.

Thursday 17 October at 9.30am Stretch and Tone is in the Village Hall. The Mobile Library makes a visit to the Village Hall Between 1.25pm – 1.55pm. Rye & District National Trust begin their seasons talks with “A Victorian Naturalist” note venue change. It will now be held in Brede Village Hall at 2pm fee is £2 for members £3 for non members and will include refreshments.

In Udimore Parish Hall from 1pm –3pm Design with Flowers, this month the subject is Halloween or a bonfire celebration Contact me, Rhiannon If you need more information. Details above.

Friday 18 October The Brede Farmers Market has lots of goodies for you to buy open from 10am – 12pm. Short Mat Bowlers will be hoping for a true aim at 7.30pm

Hastings Welsh Society are holding a Hastings week Coffee morning at 22 Hollington park Road St Leonards on Sea form 10.30am – 12pm entry £1 includes refreshments. Anyone who has Welsh connections in any way will be most welcome to join them. In the evening the Bonfire boys and girls will be parading in Hastings accumulating in a huge bonfire and firework display. The first of the many bonfire and firework events in the County

Talking of Bonfires the Rainbow Trout are the hosts for the Bonfire and Fireworks on Sunday 3 November. The Bonfire is being lit at 5.30pm they will be serving the usual warm heartening food and drink throughout the evening. The fireworks will begin about 6.30pm. They hope as many as possible in the village will support the event as they hope it will turn into an annual one.
