Consultation on Worth Park leisure programme

As part of the ongoing restoration project at Worth Park, Crawley Borough Council is seeking public opinion on the leisure programme available in the park.

The five-year restoration project is being financed by a £2.42million Heritage Lottery Fund grant.

The council will be conducting a public consultation to help discover what games and other activities people would enjoy trying.

The consultation launches on October 9 and lasts for 10 weeks.

Interested residents will be able to fill in either an online or paper form.

Suggestions so far include themed walks, croquet drop-ins, tennis sessions, pétanque (a form of boules) and cycle rides.

They may also include anything from equipment hire for informal use to help with getting a group started or suitable access arrangements.

Cllr Duncan Crow, Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture, said: “We already have an active croquet club, which we value highly, but people may prefer to play on a more informal basis.

“They may also be interested in other lawn games made available to play with friends and family.

“The consultation provides a chance for the public to have their say and will give the council a better understanding of how to take it forward.”
