Although the rate may have dipped in 2012, controllers were still called upon 779 times – which leaves Arun in the lowest 22 per cent, nationally, out of the 406 authorities questioned. Out of this, it ranked 87th in the highest-call list.

This is a lower ranking than all the other neighbouring authorities over 2012, with Adur District Council ranking 131st, Chichester District Council placing 200th and Worthing Borough Council recording the lowest pest reports for our area for dealing with rats, placing it in the top 30 per cent, nationally.
