Horsham man charged with burglary

A man from Horsham has been charged with burglary after two distraction burglaries in Horsham, say Sussex Police.

Jose Silva, 35, a landscape gardener of Birches Road, Horsham was arrested on October 23 and charged with burglary, theft and three counts of fraud by false representation.

He is charged in relation to a distraction burglary at a property of an elderly woman in Hernbrook Drive, Horsham on October 10 and 19 where a woman let a man into her home, who claimed to be a phone engineer, and bank cards had been stolen.

Silva appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on October 26 where he was remanded to appear at Lewes Crown Court on January 10, 2014.
