Rory McGrail, 38, of Longley Road, Chichester, was jailed for a year for several offences. On April 9 in Eastgate Square, he spat at officers, racially abused one of them, and said he had Covid-19. He was also sentenced for arson at a Chichester hostel.

Simon Rogers-Davis, 29, from Brighton Road, Worthing, was jailed for six months for spitting at a police officer and claiming to be infected with coronavirus at The Wolsey Hotel on April 29. According to police, he told the officer this had 'all happened because you're Chinese'.

Neil Scott-O’Connor, 23, from Partridge Green, was sentenced to 17 years’ imprisonment on January 17 for violent sex attacks on two women - one of whom he tried to strangle during a first date after meeting her via Facebook.

On February 13, Lee Matthew Davidoff, 50, unemployed and of no fixed address, was jailed for 86 weeks for repeatedly exposing himself to women in Chichester: two in North Walls, one in North Street, and one in Crane Street, police said.
