Magistrates Court results for the Eastbourne area

June 14:

A 16-year-old Eastbourne youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to driving a Honda motorcycle on Paradise Drive, Eastbourne, on November 15, last year, with no licence or insurance. He was fined £100 and his driving record endorsed with six penalty points.

Adrian Cooper, 40, of Holly Place, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Nissan vehicle on Brodrick Road, Eastbourne, on April 7, with cocaine in his bloodstream. He also pleaded guilty to driving, on the same date, with cannabis and the controlled drug benzoylecgonine in his blood stream. He was fined £250 and banned from driving for a year.

June 16:

Jack Nicholas, 26, of Victoria Drive, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Milton Road, Eastbourne, on May 7, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 69 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He was fined £350 and banned from driving for 18 months.

Robert Gilbert 48, of Renown Close, Croydon, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen Golf on the A27 Polegate Bypass, on November 10, last year, with cannabis and the controlled drug benzoylecgonine in his blood stream. He was fined £233 and banned from driving for 14 months.

Sarah Walsh, 45, of Cross Street, Herne Bay, Kent, pleaded guilty to driving a Seat vehicle on St Anthonys Avenue, Eastbourne, on April 2, while more than four times over the drink drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 170 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. She was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison, suspended for one year and banned from driving for three years.

Ashley Kemp, 32, of Langney Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW dangerously on Terminus Road, Eastbourne, on October 15, last year. He pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident where damage was caused to another vehicle, at Terminus Road, on the same date. 
He pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act 1988, at Eastbourne on October 15. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no licence. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on July 21 and released on unconditional bail.

Nkosikona Bhebhe, 45, of Callao Quay, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW on the A27, at Hollingbury, Brighton, on October 7, 2019, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 91 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. 
He also pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act 1988. The offence took place at Hastings on February 17, last year. 
The court made a community order with a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 42 months. He was ordered to pay £1,600 in prosection costs.

Nellie Holder, 54, of The Holt, Hailsham, was convicted of stealing two children’s coats, worth £71, from Next at Dover, on November 5 2019. She was also convicted of stealing items worth £171.70, from Tesco at Pembury, Kent, on November 10, last year, and was convicted of stealing clothes, worth £71, from Sainsbury’s at Folkestone, on November 7, last year. She was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £207.70 in compensation.

Lewis Stacey, 28, of James Street, Sheerness, Kent, pleaded guilty to common assault. The offence took place at Station Parade, Eastbourne, on August 25, last year. He pleaded guilty to causing £80 damage to a window of Grove Hair Experience salon, at Grove Road, Eastbourne, and guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis, at Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne, on the same date. 
The court made a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and ordered him to pay £180 in compensation.

Clinton Goodfellow, 42, of Langney Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to stealing a Ted Baker advent calendar and follow-on milk, worth £72, from Boots at Eastbourne, on February 7. He pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Eastbourne on the same date. 
He pleaded guilty to stealing beauty products, worth £130, from Boots at the Beacon, Eastbourne, on March 3 and pleaded guilty to attempting to steal baby clothing, worth £81, from Marks and Spencer at Eastbourne, on March 30. He pleaded guilty to causing damage to a door at Boots, at the Beacon, Eastbourne, on March 30 and to using threatening behaviour at Marks and Spencer, Eastbourne, on the same date. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and ordered to pay £150 in compensation. 
The court mad a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement. Magistrates made a restraining order and said the reason for the sentence was repeat offending.

June 18:

Amanda Avery, 58, of Ades Field, Wilmington, Polegate, was found guilty of failing to provide information relating to the identity of the driver of a Mercedes vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. 
She was fined £281 and ordered to pay £310 in prosecution costs. Her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

Michael Haynes, 53, of South Road, Hailsham, was found guilty of failing to provide information relating to the identity of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. 
He was fined £1,212 and ordered to pay £310 in prosecution costs. His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
