Police arrest 24 in Eastbourne during Christmas crackdown on drink and drug drivers

A spokesperson for Sussex Police stated that the arrests were made during the campaign which ran from December 1 to January 1.

The spokesperson said: “During the month-long campaign, our officers took to the roads in wind, rain, and freezing temperatures to conduct roadside checks aimed at ensuring the roads remain safe during the festive season from the selfish few who continue to put their own lives and the lives of others at risk.

"While the festive season may now be over, we continue to proactively patrol the county to tackle offenders and to keep all road users safe, 365 days a year.”
