Vandals target Bexhill public toilets

Vandals have targeted Bexhill public toilets, destroying fittings.

A Bexhill Town Council spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, within the last week, we have seen several instances of vandalism at our public conveniences at East and West Parade and Devonshire Square.

"Soap dispensers have been knocked from their fixtures; a pipe has been bent out of shape; and toilet rolls destroyed."

They added: "Repairing and replacing these items is costly and hampers the efforts of our operations team to keep Bexhill's public conveniences open, safe and accessible.

"We know the vast majority of users respect these facilities and find this destruction as frustrating as we do.

"Toilet closures are never the ideal solution, but we may sometimes need to do this on a temporary basis to repair damage due to vandalism."
