Don’t lose your right to vote as annual voter registration begins

DON’T lose your right to vote – that’s the message from Rother District Council as the annual voter registration begins.

Residents are being urged to respond online, by phone or by post to ensure they are eligible to have their say in the coming year’s elections.

Over the next few days voter registration forms will be sent to every home in the district, with residents asked to respond by October 31.

Reminders will be sent to properties where a response has not been received, and teams of canvassers will visit households between November 29 and February 3, if they have still not responded.

The majority of people will just need to confirm the details on their voter registration form, but those who need to make any changes, apart from opting out of the edited register, must return the form in the post. Instructions on how to respond are printed on the front of the canvass form.

A revised register will be published on 17 February, 2014. The edited register is the version of the electoral register which is available for purchase and can be used for marketing purposes.
