East Sussex rugby club “delighted” with glowing hygiene rating

As ed hygiene ratings from eateries around the Eastbourne are revealed, the town’s Rugby Club said it was “delighted” with its coveted five star rating.

Eastbourne Rugby Club, on Park Avenue, was given a 5 rating on March 18.

Jane Brooks, said, “It’s fabulous. We were actually one of three rugby clubs in the South East to get a five.

“We are delighted.

“This is actually the first inspection we’ve had as I have got the franchise on the club, that is why I have to be inspected. They are really clamping down.

“Previously our kitchen was very old, but Howden’s donated a new kitchen in January and it went in in February.”

“We do a mix of everything really, breakfast and things at the weekends for players and families and then we do pre-match lunches, and anybody who wants to use the facilities for parties, I can do buffet style food.”
