Devonshire Park Theatre

The Cinderella pantomime company gathered in Eastbourne to launch this year’s show which comes to the Devonshire Park Theatre from December 11-January 17.

Spokeswoman Aimee Pugh said: “Eagle-eyed locals might have spotted them as they took a trip from the beautiful Devonshire Park to the Grand Hotel with a whistle-stop trip to the bracing seafront. The cast had a ball on the day with a lot of laughs!

“The annual Devonshire Park pantomime is a beloved feature of the festive period and this year the production promises more glitter, glamour and energy than ever before. With a cast featuring familiar faces and some new names for Eastbourne too, the creative team are hard at work making sure this Cinderella will be an experience to treasure.

“National award-winning director Chris Jordan was there to keep an eye on the cast which included Eastbourne’s beloved Dame, Martyn Knight returning for his 23rd year in outrageous frocks with an eye on any men in the front row. Martyn returns with Ella Bracci, back following her performance in last year’s Peter Pan, and Lewes Roberts, who has ditched his Hook from last year and will instead be spreading ridiculous wickedness as one half of a truly despicable pair of ugly sisters.

“Completing the line-up for the launch day was Chris Aukett as Lewes’ contemptable sidekick, Holly Lineton as Prince Charming, Rebecca Sandt as loyal aide Dandini and Morgan Phillips as the hilarious all-singing and all-dancing Buttons. Morgan was most recently seen in Eastbourne just this summer in the sensational touring production of Operation Mincemeat.

“The established production team remain at the helm, with Chris Jordan once again writing and directing. With live music, gorgeous costumes, glittering sets and a talented cast of ensemble dancers, this classic tale of magic and true love will delight all ages. Audiences can be assured of a truly spectacular take on this family favourite with all the added extras the Devonshire Park Theatre pantomime promises.”
