Car and cyclist involved in collision near Chichester
One person has been taken to hospital following a collision, involving a car and a cyclist, in Fishbourne.
The incident happened on Blackboy Lane, near Chichester, according to traffic reports.
An AA Traffic News notice placed the incident in Fishbourne – between Clay Lane and the A259 Main Road, covering both directions.
South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics were was called the scene, shortly before 7.45am.
A spokesperson added: “An ambulance crew attended and one patient was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to St Richards Hospital for further treatment.”
An updated AA report said Blackboy Lane was partially blocked in both directions – between Clay Lane and the A259 Main Road – due to the collision and recovery work.
The AA listed the incident as ongoing since 7.45am, with its notice first reported at 8.05am.
Meanwhile, drivers have been facing delays around Chichester, with the longest hold-ups reported on the northbound B2145 Hunston Road approaching Whyke roundabout.
According to AA traffic notices, journeys on that stretch were taking around 14 minutes longer, with traffic averaging ten mph.
Delays were also increasing on the westbound A27 Chichester Bypass towards Whyke Roundabout. Drivers faced around nine minutes of additional journey time, with average speeds of ten mph.
Eastbound traffic between Whyke Roundabout and Bognor Road Roundabout was experiencing delays of around four minutes, also averaging ten mph.
Further west, eastbound delays approaching Fishbourne Roundabout were said to be easing. Traffic heading towards the A259 Cathedral Way junction was averaging 15 mph, with journeys taking around three minutes longer.
The A286 Stockbridge Road remains shut in both directions – between the A27 roundabout and Grosvenor Road – while gas network operator SGN replaces an ageing gas main.
