Falling tree smashes van’s windscreen in West Hoathly

Mid Sussex Police helped a driver after a tree fell onto a van in West Hoathly and smashed the windscreen on Friday (May 14).

Police said the incident happened at 11.30am and that the tree had blocked the road in Highbrook Lane, causing a build up of traffic.

Inspector Darren Taylor said: “Not the sort of thing you expect when driving down a lane in West Hoathly today.

“Thankfully just a smashed windscreen and no injuries to the driver.”
