'˜Fearless' cashier chases alcohol thief

Laura Rowland, 26, from Three Bridges, said she did not think twice before she chased a man who ran out the Maidenbower store with a crate of Stella.

The mother-of-two said she was working behind the till near the main entrance of the store in Maidenbower Drive at about 8pm when she saw a man aged about 20, run out the doors.

She said: “He ran out and I shouted ‘oi’. I left the till and chased him over the car park to an alley way and told him to give us our beer back.

“He called me a name, I can’t remember what, and he gave it back to me.

“I said ‘Right, you’re banned from our shop’, then just walked back, not thinking that I was down an alleyway with this guy – bit dangerous.”
