David Mayne said: “It was a challenging but enjoyable day and a great achievement by everyone involved.

“Thank you to all those who took part in the walk and to everyone who supported by either sponsoring the walkers or helping to raise sponsorship.

“Thank you also to Nick Warren for organising the event. It is not too late for anyone who would like to make a donation and this can be done through the email address below.”

The next fundraising event for the new pavilion will be on Saturday November 23 when Ricochet, a local 60s Rock’n’Roll Band will be playing at the Memorial Hall in Icklesham with a 7.30pm start.

There will be a licenced bar and tickets costing £5 are available by emailing David Mayne at ickleshamcasualsfc@hotmail.com.
