Lauren’s big chance

Chichester’s Lauren Harrison, aged 12, passed the audition process for this weekend’s regional final in Portsmouth in the national Open Mic UK competition (Gunwharf Quays, Sunday, October 23).

Lauren will be competing against the top unsigned acts from the region. She will be showcasing her talents in front of judges from national radio, regional press and record labels as well as a live audience.

If Lauren is successful she will win a place at the national showcase grand finals where she would be performing live at the 02 London to an audience of more than 2,000 people. The finalists will be performing to an industry judging panel including celebrity judges in a bid to be crowned ‘UK’s best on the mic 2011’. Along with the title the winners will be given a comprehensive package, recording contract and up to £30,000 investment.
